Products I Love

Running can be an expensive hobby and the price of gear can add up. Here is an ongoing list of a few of my favorite running tools — feel free to send me your favorites in the comment section below!

Pro-Tech Athletic Foam Roller (mine is hot pink!)

It burns and works your muscles by using your own body weight and muscular pressure points. If you want pain gone as quickly as possible, you have to incorporate foam rolling or some type of dynamic stretching. No pain, no gain! I bought the smaller version so that I can take the foam roller on trips with me to keep me running even on vacation.

Super Feet

I have ridiculously high arches and for years I paid for expensive customized inserts for my running shoes. This past month (June 2013) I discovered Super Feet and running will never be the same again. At around $40 a pop, you really can’t beat it!

NUUN Hydration

Think Gatorade but without all of the added sugar. From sports drinks to all day hydration, Nuuh has it all. I like to break the tablets in half and use 1/2 a tablet in a water bottle. It helps spread my money around so that the bottles last longer. You still get the same great Nuun taste (my favorite is grape).

Alex and Ani – It’s not a sprint

While this product does not help me “run” per-say it does help inspire me. My lovely sister-in-law gave me this Alex and Ani bracelet for my 24th birthday this year and I have yet to take it off. Run strong! Run fast! Run slow! As a slow runner I like to remind myself, “it’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon.”

Body Glide For Her

ForHerSmall

This is a GOD SEND! If there’s one thing I can’t do without on a run (aside from clothes and shoes) it’s Body Glide! You can use this all over — your thighs (let’s be honest people), your feet where you blister in your shoes, your bra, your sock line. You may not know chafe pain now…but you will! Body Glide helped me get through an entire half marathon and I will never turn back.

Indoor bike trainer

For those days where it’s way too hot or way too cold you can always turn to your indoor fluid bike trainer. I don’t turn to mine enough!

Products I am in the market for:

  1. New compression socks
  2. A breathable running hat
  3. A new water bottle and holder

  5. If you are looking for a good compression sock, try ProCompression or Bio Skin. Bio skin doesn’t have fun colorful options but the compression rocks!! And as for a breathable running hat, try Headsweats race hat, my favorite! (I’m ambassadors for both, and absolutely swear by them)
